Information We Collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect:

This information is used to create and secure your account.

Project information

When you use Draftie, we store:

This information allows us to save your projects, sync them across devices and provide Draftie's features.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Automated Reading and AI Processing

When you upload a floor plan, image or PDF, Draftie reads it automatically to identify rooms, walls, doors, windows, labels and other information so we can provide our features.

Today, plan PDFs are read by Draftie's own software running in your browser — no AI provider is involved in reading them. The uploaded file and what we extract from it are stored in our cloud infrastructure, as described above.

For some uploads, such as photos and screenshots, reading a plan may involve sending parts of it — usually small crops, sometimes the whole page — to AI service providers we contract with, who may process it outside Australia.

We may use uploaded content, information extracted from it, automatically generated project data, and any corrections you make to improve Draftie's automated reading, including training and testing our AI models.

Our contracted AI service providers process uploaded content on our behalf and are not permitted to use your data to train their own AI models.

If you do not want uploaded files used in this way, please do not upload them.

Sharing Your Information

We use trusted third-party service providers to help operate Draftie, including cloud hosting, authentication, storage and AI processing.

Some of these providers process information outside Australia, including in the United States and Europe. We take reasonable steps to ensure they protect your information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles.

We may also disclose your information where required by law or where reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety or security of Draftie, our users or others.

We do not sell or share your personal information for advertising or marketing purposes.
